The best (and worst) day to apply for jobs according to research

Monday mornings are the best time to complete job applications. Many people dread Mondays, but if you’re a job seeker you should be looking forward to them.  You no longer have to dread Mondays. Job hunting is unpleasant and time-consuming. But there is a way to make it more effective by utilizing Monday’s. Job hunting seemed so daunting when I began after graduating college in 2012.  I completed hundreds of applications to no avail. I spent weeks frustrated that no one even bothered to check my résumé. In order to run things around, I edited my résumé 3 times only to still receive the same results. Graduation was getting closer so instead of doing more editing and polishing of my résumé and application I decided to check other factors. I realized I was submitting job applications consistently after 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. So, I decided to shake things up and I woke up bright and early at 7:00 a.m. on a Monday morning and applied to three jobs. Quick tips on how to not overthink choosing a career

Choosing a career is a big decision. It is something you will be doing everyday for the rest of your life. The pressure to pick the right one can make it hard for you to even decide. Unfortunately many people never do because they are over-thinking. I found the right career for me through trial and error. Not everyone gets it right the first time. Visualizing yourself choosing a career is a start, but there has to be action taken if you want to make a decision. Clarity comes from engagement not thought. The more you think about something, the less likely you are to do it. It took me a year to actually start my blog because I was afraid of putting my self out there. I was over-thinking all of the “what-ifs.” I was freaking out over everything that could go wrong.
