What will you manifest in 2019?

You can change your life in 6 months. It is time plus consistency that creates lasting success. This will require your focus. We are approaching the halfway mark of 2019 and if you are feeling overwhelmed to achieve your goals instead of inspired this post is for you. There is still time to work towards that promotion, launch that podcast, or start that book. Success isn’t always related to talent. Without calling anybody out here sometimes the people who make it don’t have any talent at all. They just keep consistently showing up and adding value in their work that helps others. There are advantages that have been given to some. But, those advantages aren’t always helpful. People fail their way to success. No one avoids failure on their way to the top. A positive mindset is key and that is what the mantra at the top in for. Save this for the next time you’re feeling like there can’t be a new start. You have everything you need already to get things done, you …

The impact fear has on success

When you’re having a tough time in life it can be hard to see the good in any situation. At least if you’re feeling how I did a few weeks ago when I project I had been working on, spending money and countless hours, persistently for months fell through because of reasons beyond my control.  You start to believe that nothing can change and you begin to feel ‘stuck.’ Maybe things didn’t work out the way you expected. The right opportunities never came along. It doesn’t matter the reason, what matters is that it is holding you back. Failure leads to multiple learning opportunities to become who you are meant to be. Feeling ‘stuck’ comes from a place of fear and limits. You begin to fear failure and avoid situations where it is a possibility. No one wants to ever say aloud, “I fear success,” because it seems awkward to say. Everyone wants to be successful. We all work to have things that we want and to live an independent life. However, there are many …

#ICYMI: What the Kavanaugh hearing means to women

The best part of social media is watching a live event and wondering if others are interpreting events the way you are. I avoided sharing my opinions of Kavanaugh during the hearing even though his behavior while being questioned troubled me.  Then I woke up this morning and the internet is undefeated. I was not the only one that noticed his flaring anger and some senators empathetic approach to impact the allegations have had on Kavanaugh’s reputation and home life. The Republican Senate representatives kept pointing to the devastation these allegations have had on both families, but never addressed the victim as such. Kavanaugh says that these allegations have “destroyed” his family.  I was concerned that victims watching would somehow start to think that their attackers deserve empathy. Kavanaugh stated when questioned by senator Kamala Harris that he did not watch Dr. Ford’s testimony because he was preparing his testimony. Well, he appeared to be very unprepared and took the wrong approach. As a man his ego was threatened and instead of being empathetic towards the …

Strategies to help you uncover your purpose

One thing I know is that passion builds empires. Passion is what led Steve Jobs to return to Apple after being fired 12 years later and turn into a billion dollar company. Passion is also what led Oprah to become one the first African-American billionaires. after being told she would never make it in show business. Passion is what separates a career from a job. It also is the determining factor when deciding if you’re just living of existing. You have to boldly seek your passions so that your purpose will ultimately show itself. Everyone has a purpose. Don’t count yourself out because you can’t choose one or you feel that you weren’t born with a passion. Some of us are born with the talent that is recognizable to the world. For instance, Ariana Grande has a vocal range that spans 4 octaves without any formal vocal training. It’s obvious she was born to sing. However, not all passions are obvious. You have a gift and can cultivate passion. Passion ties you to being committed to what …

The benefits of having engaged employees

The current trend is to job hop, so don’t feel alone if you are having a hard time figuring out what you want to do. According to a recent Gallup poll millennials are least engaged at work with at least 60 percent being open to a new job opportunity. With the average tenure of a millennial employee being 2 years. Loving what you do has major benefits. One of them being more opportunities.  You will spend your time focused on what you’re doing and give it your best. Research has again when we hate our jobs we are not engaged and our productivity levels suffer. Now while I would love to see everyone in a real job they loved we live in a world where that is not being realistic. It may take time before you land a job you love but that doesn’t mean you can’t choose to be engaged in who are and what you are doing right n now. After all, what if you are right where you are meant to be? Now, …
