20 things you should do in your 20’s…

Welcome to the prime-time of your life! Want to make the most of it? If so, start with these 20 things you must do in your twenties.  Make them memorable. Make it your credo to learn, live, and laugh.


Here is my list of twenty things you should do:

1. Eat at an exotic restaurant.


2. Pay down debt.

Your future self will be grateful. Make sacrifices and get it paid down now.


3. Travel to another country.

The days of traveling abroad being only for the rich are long gone. Brands like  Travel Noire make travelling alone and on a budget feasible.



4. Learn to say no. Nicely.

You are coming into your own so there’s no need to people please. We would all love to have more time to do everything. However if you want to be a success and remain You know who you are and what you want. Deny anything that stands in the way of that. Starve your distractions, feed your focus. However don’t be an ass. Politely state your reason why you must cancel attending an event or fulfilling an obligation. As a courteous try to cancel and soon as you aware you have a schedule conflict. Never cancel last minute.


5. Let go of toxic friendships.

6. Create a budget.

By not having a budget you cutie be throwing away hundreds of dollars of month. The only way to know how much you can save is to track your spending.


7. Learn another language.

Try the free duo lingo app to start. It comes highly recommended by users.


8. Take your parents out to dinner.

Life is so hectic and this is a great way to give back your parents as well as show them your financial growth. It will also give you time to catch up and share a few a laughs.

9. Get health insurance.

Now if the time to be proactive and start taking care of yourself. At minimum you should be having a yearly physical.


10. Exercise at least three times per week.

Experts recommend that everyone should get at least 30 minute of exercise daily. I have a hectic work schedule so I utilize my breaks for fitness. I walk or jog on the trail around our offices. Work is no longer excuse make time in your day to do something that will benefit you.


 11. Find a hobby. 

Research has proven the benefits to having a hobby. It is a great way to alleviate every day stress. Especially if you are in a position where you feel stuck. Hobbies help to keep your creativity alive. They can also lead to the discovery of new passions. Visit Groupon to get discounts on local things you can try in your area. Try something new you won’t regret it.


12. Build an emergency fund with at least 3-8 months worth of expenses. You will thank yourself later. 


13. If you hate your job, change it. Period. 

 Do not continue to waste your time or the employers. Find a job you can at least be committed too if you are


14. Go back to school.

If you need additional coursework to advance in your current position or a degree is required for your dream career, go for it!


 15. Clarify your career goals. Make a list and then assign daily actions to achieve them.

Get this awesome GOAL clip board on Etsy here. Keep track of your goals so you can start to prioritize to figure out what you really want. Make a list and check it twice, success is yours but you have to prepare for it. However a list is just a starting point. Take equal amounts of action!


16. Make amends with enemies. It’s good for your soul and you will rest easier at night.

17. Let go of grudges.

I have experienced the toll holding on to a grudge can have. It is a distraction that almost held me back from starting my blog. If you are trying to progress or doing something new in general you have no time and no room in your spirit for anger and resentment. You need all of your energy focused on living your best life.  You won’t be able to make amends with everyone and that okay as long as you make peace with yourself about the role you played in the diminishing of the relationship.


18. Make friends with people from diverse backgrounds.

Mix and mingle. You will learn so much in so little time. If you don’t have money to travel the world this is a great way to learn about different cultures without breaking the bank.


19. Ask for a raise. 

If you’ve been exceeding expectations at work let your boss now and request a private meeting to discuss your compensation.


 


20. Get your own place.

Freedom is bliss. When you live alone it makes you more responsible financially and you have less stress to deal with without room mates.  If you’re not in your twenties that’s okay too because it never hurts to shake things up at any point in our lives.


Use this list to get started and inspired to create your own list of things you want to accomplish. Even if you are not in your twenties you can utilize this list to shake things up at any age.
