I am inspired by the creativity and inspirational messages to be found in others’ stories, art, and lives across social media. Many people who strive to inspire us daily by sharing their weight-loss journey’s, beauty tips, business advice, etc. resources are now at our fingertips to become our best selves. Self-improvement is now a trend. But, is there such a thing as too much motivation?
There are infinite resources for inspiration. There are thousands of motivational blogs, self-help books, life coaches, etc. Social media makes it even easier to access information to help us grow and find happiness daily. Sometimes we can consume so much inspiration that we can become overwhelmed. So overwhelmed to the point that some people decide that maybe what they want is out of reach. This is usually the crossroads where dreams go to die.
Why? Because we fall into the comparison trap every time we open the apps on our phones or ask unqualified people for advice on our biggest decisions. We set a goal and then spend so much time researching we forget the most important part-execution.
Sometimes we can consume so much inspiration that we can become overwhelmed. So overwhelmed to the point that some people decide that maybe what they want is out of reach. This is usually the crossroads where dreams go to die.
Here is one very important thing to remember if you want to keep yours alive: You are all you need to bring success to your career and life.
You just need to get started. No matter what your current circumstances are, you need to take pride in the fact that no one can do it like you. There will never be another you.
You owe it to yourself to become the best version of you. You don’t need a miracle, you just need patience, perseverance, and a plan. It is the sum of small changes that create room for a big opportunity. It took me a long time to incorporate this into my daily routine but, once I did I started seeing results.
One day, while I was on my way to this job I hated I was recalling one of the many inspirational messages I had read and I realized that I had to make a change. I started applying for other positions, even ones that I didn’t qualify for.
A few months later I received a job offer and I was able to quit that job and never look back. If I would have done that one thing putting in applications I would still be there and miserable.
It sounds simple because it is. I didn’t make a drastic change. I decided to handle one small task every day that would propel me Prepare yourself for the life you want right now and you will eventually receive it.
You have to be the catalyst for your goals. The end game should be for your goals to go from being written on paper into reality. You are the only one standing between your current situation and your desired destination. Your life will change once you realize the power you have over it. If something doesn’t feel right follow that feeling. You can not control external circumstances but you can control how they impact you.
Take intentional action for what you want, and then get inspired once you’ve hit a bump in the road. This will keep you from falling out of the comparison trap and prevent analysis paralysis. The one thing you do today could change the course of your tomorrow for the better. Let go of the past. Make each day count as stepping stone towards your success.
It’s great to gain knowledge and get inspired by other pioneers like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Oprah. However, at some point, a choice will have to be made. You will have to act on the knowledge you’ve gained if you want to see the results. The tricky part about inspiration is that it is a two-edged sword. You have to find a balance between being inspired and taking action.
